Stuff to Do with Kids at the Progressive® Insurance New England Boat Show

By Brian Souders, Progressive® Insurance New England Boat Show

It’s that time of year when we’re looking for any reason to get the kids out of the house, even for just a few hours. Taking them to the Progressive Insurance New England Boat Show is a great, fun way to spend the day.

Best of all? Children 12 and younger are FREE when accompanied by an adult. Buy Adult Ticketsboat show image

Kids have a blast seeing all the different boats and exploring them with their parents (when you’re in and around the boats, be sure to keep your kids close by to keep them safe!). The show staff has also packed the event with cool boating and fishing activities kids will love:

BUILD-A-BOAT

If they can imagine it, they can build it! Little skippers make their own one-of-a kind nautical masterpiece to take home as a show souvenir.

KIDS' PADDLE BOATING

Kids love splashing around our mini lake in pedal-operated paddleboat.

SALT THE HUMPBACK WHALE

Learn all about the humpback whales that visit the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary off the coast of Massachusetts, with “Salt,” a life-size inflatable humpback. Kids can tour inflatable Salt to see what the inside of a whale looks like, and hear the unbelievable true story of the real Salt, and why she's famous.

MISS GEICO OFFSHORE RACING BOAT

You’ve never seen a boat like this! We’re talking 3,300-hp 1650 RACE Mercury Racing sterndrive engines in a world-champion 50-ft. Victory catamaran. Miss Geico can reach speeds in excess of 200 mph!

PROGRESSIVE® INSURANCE BOOTH

In partnership with Progressive Insurance and the Annapolis School of Seamanship. Kids can show off their docking technique in the pool with RC boats, or take a spin in a Virtual Reality boating experience (with a parent’s on-site permission).
